ClipFest — A Celebration of Cliptography

Fun, frolics and frippery

Join us at ClipFest — a day-long celebration of Cliptography, creativity, and community — held in the remarkable grounds of Ichi-Coo Park, a unique 16-acre horticultural garden in Surrey with intimate landscapes, waterscapes, mature trees and unexpected views.

ClipFest is also a fundraiser for Perennial, the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting people working in horticulture. By coming along, you’re directly helping to support the people who grow, shape and care for the landscapes we all enjoy.

What is Cliptography?

Cliptography is a broader and more expressive concept than traditional topiary. It’s a freeform approach to shaping plants and trees through pruning and clipping, guided by imagination rather than rigid rules or plant types.

Some have said that Cliptography is to Topiary as Banksy is to Rembrandt.

What’s Happening on the Day

Throughout the day, Ichi-Coo Park will be alive with activity:

 – Exhibitors and trade stands
 – A programme of scheduled events
 – Live demonstrations by skilled practitioners
 – Opportunities to have a go at clipping yourself, with guidance
 – Or simply watch, talk to, and learn from experienced clippers at work
 – Children’s activities and hands-on horticultural sessions
 – Time to explore the gardens and landscapes of Ichi-Coo Park

There will be food vendors available throughout the day and into the evening, or you’re very welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the grounds.

Live Music in the Evening — Included in Your Ticket

After a full day of creativity and hard work, it’s time to let your hair down.

Your ticket includes a live concert by The Small Fakers — a high-energy tribute to Small Faces, featuring the iconic Itchycoo Park. As the working day winds down, the music starts, the garden atmosphere shifts, and ClipFest becomes a celebration — dancing very much encouraged.
